In the first of what I hope to be many, a small article on Hampshire Chess clubs, mainly from the Southampton and Portsmouth Chess Leagues. We start with a look at my club, Chandler’s Ford, although this is really an amalgamation of many Eastleigh Chess Clubs. I would welcome additional material on these, so please do send me details on your club.
The Southampton and Portsmouth Leagues held matches between each other from the 1950’s (as did Southampton against Bournemouth).
