The original post from the old Hampshire Chess website on the 2002 Hampshire Individual has been reproduced for the site. As well as a close tournament this also includes a blitz game from one of the competitors against Gary Kasparov. Alongside the Open a U125 tournament was also held.

Alongside the 2017 Hampshire Individual Championship, the Major and Minor Congresses were held. The Minor had the largest number of entries with 28 players participating.
