After winning the Montague Jones cup for the first time the previous season, Hampshire would have gone into this season in a confident mood. In the first of what I hope to be many, a small article on Hampshire Chess clubs, mainly from the Southampton and Portsmouth Chess Leagues. We start with a look at my club, Chandler’s Ford, although this is really an amalgamation of many Eastleigh Chess Clubs. The 2014 Hampshire Chess Championship was held at Eastleigh College between 7th and 9th November 2014. It was split into 3 sections with in total 63 players participating.
