In the first of what I hope to be many, a small article on Hampshire Chess clubs, mainly from the Southampton and Portsmouth Chess Leagues. We start with a look at my club, Chandler’s Ford, although this is really an amalgamation of many Eastleigh Chess Clubs. Hampshire A lost 9.5 – 10.5 against Buckinghamshire A yesterday in the final match of their season, played at Micheldever Station.
Winners for Hampshire were Stephen O’Toole, Malcolm Cooper, Bill Purkiss and Scott Leadbetter, plus a default win on the bottom board.
The 2014 Hampshire Chess Championship was held at Eastleigh College between 7th and 9th November 2014. It was split into 3 sections with in total 63 players participating.
